CTA works for the kind of church personified by Pope John XXIII, glimpsed at the Second Vatican Council, outlined at the US Bishops' 1976 Call to Action Conference, proclaimed by 20000 signers in CTA's  "Call for Reform in the Catholic Church" (New York Times, Ash Wednesday, 1990) and encouraged by Joseph Cardinal Bernardin in his Catholic Common Ground Initiative.
We love the Church and want the gospel message of compassion and openness to be heard in a world torn by oppression and prejudice.

Post-Conference Meeting: Sunday Nov. 16, 1:45 pm, at Crossroads Methodist Church, SE corner of Northern and Central, Phoenix.

The Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church of Greece voted in Athens on Oct. 8, 2004, to restore the female diaconate. All the members of the Holy Synod's 125 metropolitans and bishops and Archbishop Christodoulos, the head of the church of Greece, had considered the topic. The decision does not directly affect the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, which is an eparchy of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. Read more about this in the article "Grant Her Your Spirit" by P. Zagano which appeared in the Feb. 7 issue of America magazine.
